Description We are looking for a Projects Financial Analyst to join our team based in Torrance, California. This role is within the automotive industry and will predominantly be virtual, with the potential for onsite meetings as required. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Support Large Project Leads (LPLs) and Project Leads in defining project cost plans and budget plans, ensuring their approval in a timely manner.

• Regularly review project actual costs and coordinate with Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and IT Budget Controller to address any issues related to cost plans, budget plans, and actual costs.

• Track and report monthly Project Accrual and Re-class of non-labor transactions.

• Escalate any significant variances in project costs, either under-run or over-run, that are above the established threshold.

• Generate weekly and monthly reports to track portfolio costs, forecast, and actuals.

• Support Unit Leads in defining support/enhancement cost plans and budget plans.

• Review support/enhancement Project Request (PR) actual costs and coordinate with EPMO and IT Budget Controller to address any related issues.

• Track and report monthly support/enhancement Accrual and Re-class of non-labor transactions.

• Escalate any significant variances in support/enhancement PRs that are above the variance threshold.

• Utilize financial software applications and databases to maintain accurate records and perform ad hoc financial analysis. Requirements • Proficiency in communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial team members

• Demonstrated experience in reporting, planning, and budget processes within an automotive industry setting

• Ability to manage and manipulate databases for financial analysis and decision-making support

• Experience in project management, specifically with financial aspects of project execution

• Strong finance and accounting skills with a focus on accrual accounting and other accounting functions

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed

• Proficiency in spreadsheet software, particularly for financial modeling and cost analysis

• Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements and to meet with suppliers

• Experience with fund administration and project cost management

• Proficiency in R code for data analysis and modeling

• Willingness to work onsite for effective project execution

• Experience with monthly financial reporting and financial enhancements

• Understanding of overtime implications on project financials

• Knowledge of project financial threshold management and EPMO processes

• Experience with non-labor cost analysis and project financial management.
