Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care HMO Authorization Specialist in Torrance, California

Centrally located in Torrance, California, Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care provides sub-acute nursing care, rehabilitation services, skilled nursing, and long-term care. We understand the importance of creating a comfortable and nurturing atmosphere, whether residents stay for short-term treatment or long-term care.

Job Description

  • Acts as the liaison between the clinical staff and the HMO's

  • Collect vital information from various departments to be shared with the HMO's

  • Verify coverage & benefits with the HMO's to ensure proper compensation

  • Assist in ordering equipment, updating HMO tracking calendar and logs, etc.

  • Update tracking for therapists, get signatures and approvals for equipment and script

  • Obtaining and following up on authorization for services

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a clinical background and/or experience in a medical office

  • Should understand medical terminology

  • Must be able to read or quickly pick up reading clinical charts

  • Excellent Microsoft skills - Excel

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record programs preferred

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bilingual

  • Skilled Nursing experience

Shift:

Full-Time

Monday - Friday

8:00am - 5:00pm
