Deuel County Farmers Union Oil Company Office Assistant in Toronto, South Dakota

Hours: Full time, 40 hours maximum This is a full time position. Hours of work are varied based on office requirements, Monday through Friday, within the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Approximately 40 hours a week. Hours may be adjusted based on customer needs.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. May be subject to successful completion of a drug and alcohol screen
  3. Should have previous computer experience
  4. Must have a clean driving record
  5. Must be capable of occasional lifting and twisting of heavy objects

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Office Operations

  1. Maintain store appearance to an acceptable standard,
  2. Perform office duties as required. Mainly data entry and other accounting tasks
  3. Assist patrons at the counter when needed
  4. Assist with technology issues
  5. Perform computer and related equipment maintenance,

Employee Supervision

  1. None

Customer Service

  1. Assist patrons with account payments and corrections
  2. Maintain a courteous attitude and clean appearance,
  3. Understand the chart of accounts listing,
  4. Keep your work area neat and clean

Oher Duties as Assigned, Including, but not limited to:

  1. Cover for any absent employee,
  2. Other duties as needed to keep small company efficient as assigned by supervisor or Management.
  3. Cooperate with other departments of the company, so that harmony exists and a good company image is maintained.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently sitting at desk or in other areas of the office.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Above 50 pounds the employee should use shared lifting for support. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel Travel is minimal and primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.

Salary and Requirements

  1. Salary is hourly non-exempt from overtime rules and is set dependent on experience.
