Plant Manager – Topeka, KS

This is an exempt level position

Position Summary:

The plant manager for the Topeka, KS, animal nutrition location will be responsible for daily oversight as well as long term vision of operational strategies associated with safety, quality assurance, environmental compliance, production, yield, cost management, capital disciplines and colleague development. This facility has a workforce compromised of approximately 50 salaried and hourly employees.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Display a commitment, lead, participate and support ongoing safety engagement

  • Develop, coach and motivate colleagues through diversity and inclusion, leadership capabilities, A2E and Performance Excellence

  • Build a culture of collaboration, trust and early escalation of issues and concerns

  • Effectively collaborate with Centers of Excellence: EHS, quality/food safety, performance management, utilities, maintenance, technology, CAPEX, human resources and process optimization.

  • Direct the operation of the plant which includes safety and environmental compliance, manufacturing quality products, production, cost optimization, yield and sustainability

  • Oversee performance development for all salaried colleagues at the facility

  • Maintaining positive community relationship

Job Qualifications:

  • The ability to implement change when necessary

  • Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and feedback

  • Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by the division

  • Experience in Performance Excellence is preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement/Readiness

  • The ability to provide motivation to the direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel

  • Use Performance Excellence and A2E to drive improvement and collaboration

  • BA/BS in feed science manufacturing, engineering or a related field of study is preferred – MBA is a plus

  • 5+ year’s production management experience
