Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), Position Description Number D2055000 and is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters, Topeka, KS, Kansas Army National Guard. Responsibilities As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-07, you will oversee and ensure the accomplishment of work performed in the areas of personnel management and administration. Perform other duties as assigned. This position is located in the personnel and administrative section (S1) of a Brigade/Group/Troop Command. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-4 through E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: Immaterial GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one year experience at the next lower grade (GS-6). Must have a knowledge of administrative medical actions to provide procedural guidance to organizational personnel in the management of LOD's, physical exams, profiles, medical MOS retention boards, fitness for duty boards, and vaccinations. Knowledge of procedural and regulatory guidelines to advise LOD investigating officers. Knowledge of organizational strength maintenance procedures to complete required reports and to assist with recruiting activities. Knowledge of officer and enlisted promotion systems sufficient to provide procedural guidance and to review information for accuracy. Knowledge of accession and appointment requirements for officer and warrant officer candidates. Knowledge of administrative regulations sufficient to train organizational personnel in the administration of postage accounts, file systems, publications, and correspondence. Knowledge of office automation programs sufficient to manipulate database and spreadsheet information in a format as required by the organization. Ability to use automated or manual systems in the preparation of reports and correspondence required by the organization. Knowledge of English, grammar, and composition. Physical Demands: Work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.
