Plant Manager (Tooele, UT)
Our client in Tooele, UT a new wire mesh line for their Tooele, UT facility, and will be staffing this plant from the ground up. Operations anticipated to start in May, but they want a Plant Manager first!
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production facility for manufacturing reinforcement mesh and bars. This role includes managing daily operations, ensuring optimal production efficiency, maintaining product quality, and fostering a safe and collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management and a solid understanding of steel or construction-related production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management- Oversees the production of reinforcement mesh and bars, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules, optimizes workflows to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs, and monitors and analyzes production data to identify areas for improvement.
Team Leadership- Leads, trains, and motivates the plant team, including supervisors and production staff.
Establishes clear goals and performance expectations for all team members.
Fosters a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conducts regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Promotes a safe working environment for all employees.
Quality Control- Implements and monitors quality assurance processes to maintain high product standards.
Addresses customer complaints or quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
Maintenance and Equipment- Oversees maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
Collaborates with maintenance teams to ensure reliability and efficiency of production assets.
Budgeting and Cost Management- Develops and manage the plant’s operational budget.
Monitors expenses and implements cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
Strategic Planning- Contributes to the development of long-term strategies for growth and competitiveness.
Evaluates and implement new technologies or processes to enhance production capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in Wire Mesh manufacturing, steel, construction materials, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of production processes, quality management systems, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in production management software and standard office applications.

This plant specializes in the design and manufacture of ground control products, including bolts, beams, channels, trusses, resin, and rebar, which are essential for enhancing safety and efficiency in mining, tunneling, civil, and construction industries.
