Description
Position:Hotel Housekeeper
Reports to:Housekeeping Supervisor
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt
Position Summary:Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms, baths, corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators and lounges under supervision of housekeeping supervisor. Must promote a positive image of the property to guests and be pleasant, honest, and friendly. Distribute linen, towels and room supplies.
Essential Duties:
- Enters and prepares the room for cleaning.
- Makes beds, strips bedding, dusts rooms and furniture.
- Cleans the bathrooms and replenishes guestroom and bath supplies.
- Cleans the closet.
- Vacuums the carpet.
- Checks and secures the rooms.
- Replenish amenities according to the operational standards, including complimentary water.
- Delivers and retrieves items on loan to guests (e.g. iron and ironing boards).
- Ensures security of guest rooms and privacy of guests at all times.
- Performs rotational cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required.
- Cleans guest bathroom/bed room/floor corridor.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of his work area.
- Responsible for the Hotel property in the work area.
- Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the assigned area.
- Authorize to enter in guestrooms for cleaning and providing turndown services as per requirement.
- Washes dirty linens and bedding.
- Understands and complies with Company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be polite and courteous.
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.

- Requires heavy physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds.

- Work involves frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals bio hazardous materials, dirt dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
