Job Summary

Functions as a technology leader, department manager or administrative leader, in a role that implements engineering strategy. May have influence in developing strategy. Has significant influence for scope of responsibilities within division. Responsible for execution of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Standards Proactively provides guidance and direction Interpreting, applying and providing direction to larger assigned tasks Has ownership in maintaining and updating, developing engineering standards Provides technical guidance for projects or disciplines Quality/Continuous Improvement: Establishes related processes, promotes a culture that is conducive to quality Supports and may lead continuous improvement, change management, risk management efforts Engineering Production: Accountable for managing engineering design-related aspects of highly complex project(s) or small multiple projects, including engineering schedule, budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, coordination of design, procurement, construction Orchestrates all technical aspects of highly complex projects; makes project engineering execution decisions within bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides, contract commitments Establishes work plan to be applied to given project Project Coordination: Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on highly complex projects Responsible for coordinating project schedules for multiple disciplines Client Focus: Responsible for determining identification of key client interests, drivers on projects Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members; develops approaches to accommodate concerns in performance of work on complex projects Typically provides support to business development or pursuit activities Knowledge Sharing, Innovation, Technology: Serves as technology leader, is recognized as Company/industry expert within discipline/speciality May develop innovative solutions critical to company success As discipline chief engineer, is accountable for definition of overall processes, lessons learned, resolution of project engineering technical issues Has authority to approve engineering standards and guides, authority over technical aspects of division projects and proposals within bounds set by applicable policies, standards, contractual commitments Accountable for all engineering disciplines within division Provides thought leadership and sets policies impacting all projects Identifies technical skill gaps and mitigation plans Determines technical training content Drives knowledge management and knowledge transfer approach Influences technical engineering culture throughout division People Management: Provides direction to medium size group Oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, compensation management, succession planning, disciplinary actions, employee relations and workforce planning Resource Management: Strongly influences and implements resource management strategy Manages engineering resources and applicable technical requirements for medium size and/or moderately complex group Responsibilities include staffing, recruiting, budgets, tools and/or processes Resolves resource conflicts and identifies training needs Typically includes large offices or multiple offices within a country; may have some responsibility for other countries; involves one or more similar lines of business or related disciplines Administrative responsibilities typically include overseeing department operations, workforce planning, budgets, IT, office administration, facilities Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are developed, implemented, communicated for workgroup Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs Approves timesheets and expense reports Management Scope Factors: Scope of influence is over a significant part of division Influences costs, productivity, or competitiveness Geographic responsibility is typically for multiple offices or a region Typical scope involves moderately complex business line or technology responsibility and/or moderately complex discipline responsibility Supports mitigation of risk related to projects/technologies

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 15 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $166,620.00- $277,860.00
