SSOE is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Designer to join our team allowing the selected individual with the opportunity to participate in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for the world's leading companies. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for working with other contributing mid-senior level electrical engineers and design teams to create exciting and complex designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects. Responsibilities The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment. Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates large assignments with overall responsibility for budget adherence, quality control, and inter-discipline coordination. Makes decisions independently on design problems, practices and methods. Represents the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project. Serves as a job captain on single and/or multi-discipline projects. Understands other discipline's needs and requirements and relates them to own discipline and total project scope. Prepares studies and schematic (conceptual) designs for new systems and analyzes operation of existing systems. Works with code officials, and other design professionals, in interpretation or exception to codes. Assigns and reviews work of project design team. Checks progress of work and alerts project manager to changes of scope or additional services. Writes scope of work for design based on preliminary review and meetings with external customers. Assesses the requirements of a project, breaks a project into tasks and works with management to determine scope of work, budget and project staffing needs. May be requested to perform in a project management role. May check portions, or entire, completed drawings. May serve in chosen discipline as a staff advisor or consultant in the role of technical specialist requiring highly specialized knowledge and skills and the use of advanced techniques. Qualifications Associate Degree or certification of completion of other post secondary training in engineering or architectural fields preferred. Minimum twenty (20) years of designer experience. Travel required. Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments. Salary Range: $97,000-$129,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
