ProMedica Health System Manager - Pediatric Ambulatory Behavioral Health - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio

The manager/director, under the direction of the COO/CNO, will collaborate with senior leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring ambulatory behavioral health practices. The leader will have oversight of operations, assessing operational processes, improvement enhancements and efficiency, and leading the development of new techniques, services and programs that will improve employee, patient and physician/provider satisfaction, in support of the organization’s mission. The leader will act as the primary contact for local, regional and state organizations that are directly connected to the development and ongoing operations of an ambulatory pediatric behavioral health program.

ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Responsible for the development and implementation of an ambulatory, evidence based behavioral health program, including but not limited to an adolescent behavioral health Intensive Outpatient Program. 2. Supports COO/CNO on all professional and programmatic activities in accordance with professional, regulatory, and accrediting standards including but not limited to the state of Ohio and The Joint Commission in alignment with the ProMedica mission, goals and values. 3. Directs, or at times delegates, to subordinate management, human resource activities to include workforce planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, supervision, recognition, discipline, and evaluation of employees. 4. Develops, approves and monitors business unit operation and capital budgets and assists in the oversight of financial accountability from departmental operations and overall financial performance. 5. Accountable for monitoring appropriate resource level based on patient and procedural volume trends in alignment with benchmarking targets and operating budgets. 6. Serves as a member of the hospital’s leadership team, maintains a high degree of visibility and participates in various hospital, system, medical staff or board related committees as assigned. 7. Works collaboratively with medical staff, and any relevant hospital service lines and/or departments to ensure continuous quality improvement in clinical, financial and operational affairs. Implements change as appropriate. 8. Maintains excellent relationships and on-going communication with various matrixed services, service lines, system department, as well as related business units. 9. Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with community, regional and governmental agencies to ensure business and clinical needs of department/program are met in efficient, effective, and high quality manner. 10. Develops and participates in all aspects of hospital business plans and strategic plans as assigned. 11. Responsible for development and oversight of hospital departmental policies, procedures, objectivism quality assurance programs, safety and accreditation standards and ensures consistent implementation of the same. 12. Represents hospital, department, business line within the community, at external events, and various community functions as assigned. 13. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field i.e. nursing, social work, counseling, etc. Skills: Must possess superior interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task environment. Requires strong business acumen with demonstrated knowledge of operations and financial budgets. Effective relationship development and problem solving abilities. Requires effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Years of Experience: Requires 3 or more years of progressively responsible supervisory or leadership experience in behavioral health or a healthcare related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Master’s Degree in appropriate field i.e. social work, counseling, nursing, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS Personal Protective Equipment: Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE. Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient-handling equipment. Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood-borne pathogens and bodily fluids. Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e., PPD, respirator training, vaccines, as appropriate). Must be able to move about department and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to move, lift or carry light-to-heavy patients or equipment frequently. Must be able to lift medium materials, non-material handling; continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling, and squatting. Occasional sitting, stairs, and kneeling.
