SSOE is looking to hire an Dust Collection Designer to join our team allowing the selected individual with the opportunity to participate in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for the world's leading companies. As an Dust Collection Designer, you will be responsible for working with other contributing mid-senior level Mechanical Engineers and design teams to create exciting and complex designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects. Responsibilities The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment. Performs a variety of routine design assignments, with increasing responsibility, under the direction of a project engineer/architect or department manager. Works from both own designs and designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates. Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals. Ability to take an engineer's single line sketch or isometric and make a working ductwork design using SMACNA guidelines and other industry standard references with minimal direction from the engineer. Develops project details, prepares selections, and adapts to alternatives. Maintains working knowledge of the mechanical codes. Performs production of construction documents. Performs routine design calculations for the review of the project engineer and prepares basic layouts. Has occasional external customer contact. Participates in continuing education and training to develop and apply innovative ideas and keep abreast of state of the art technology (e.g. evaluate and learn new software packages). May direct the drafting effort, within own discipline and coordinate work effort with other disciplines. May research equipment selection or materials and provide information to project engineer/architect for specifications. May process shop drawings. Travel required. Qualifications Associate degree in the engineering fields preferred. Minimum five (5) years experience with SSOE as a Designer or seven (7) years related designer experience with former employer(s). Experience in the Mechanical industry, specifically industrial and manufacturing. Working knowledge of Revit, 3D design, and a proven track record of inter-discipline coordination. Ability to work independently with general direction from project lead. Valid driver's license is required. May be waived for international assignments. Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
