ProMedica Health System Cashier Patient Registration - Admitting Office - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY

The cashier will make use of technical and financial skills to track and manage patient payments.

Additionally, they will work directly with departments to handle cash and post/deposit as needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  3. Perform work and assign work based on identified work plans.

  4. Identifies and acts on the needs of both internal and external customers in a positive, polite, compassionate, and timely manner.

  5. Receives, posts and balances payments directly “on-line” from patient payments.

  6. Receives and processes accounts receivable payments and other miscellaneous monies.

  7. Prepares and makes bank deposits daily.

  8. Totals monies received and verifies totals with cash-on-hand.

  9. Reconciles totals when errors are found.

  10. Prepares reports of daily transactions and forwards to the Accounting Department.

  11. Assists with patient billing inquiries via in person and/or phone, as needed.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Skills:

Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems accurately and independently. Strong attention to detail skills. Must demonstrate excellent customer service qualities and be able to communicate, negotiate, and effectively interact with patients and departments. Must be able to explain payment options to patients and collect payments.

Years of Experience: Prior cash posting experience, calculator, and computer experience.
