ProMedica Health System 340B Pharmacy Analyst - Pharmacy Administration - Full Time in Toledo, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining 340b compliance within contract pharmacies and hospital outpatient programs. Works closely with system pharmacy team, 340B lead, supply chain, compliance, legal, epic (pharmacy) and IT to ensure that systems are in place for a compliant program. Reviews, audits, and manages interfaces to ensure that claims are processed according to contracts in place. Works with medical staff office to ensure that physician rosters are up to date. Member of system pharmacy team and involved with pharmacy team goals of contracting, procurement and inventory processes to drive improvement and the achievement of system goals. This includes preparing/reviewing pharmacy purchasing reports, improving contract compliance, monitoring market share agreement compliance, communicating with facility pharmacy staff on purchasing issues, sourcing products when primary items are unavailable. Position is a liaison to ProMedica Supply Chain, GPO, manufacturers and distributors for pharmacy products and procurement. Position reports directly to the System Chief Pharmacy Officer.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Analyze in detail, track, and ensure ProMedica’s 340b program is compliant to current roles.

  2. Perform advanced data analytics to identify savings opportunities, drive clinical improvements, and cost optimization across system pharmacy.

  3. Coordinates record keeping, P & P with federal and state requirements for the 340B program.

  4. Work closely with pharmacy stakeholders, GPO, and pharmacy teams to measure, track and assure integrity and compliance of pharmacy purchase.

  5. Works with contracts manager and pharmacy team to track and trend inventory levels and purchases against wholesaler contract.

  6. Reviews and ensures effective use of utilization of reverse distributors at each ProMedica facility.

  7. Daily review of hospital pharmacy drug purchases with split-billing software to look for cost savings or 340B program rules discrepancies as well as self-auditing 340B locations and many specific dispensations to ensure compliance.

  8. Responsible for reviewing and approving pharmacy orders daily as needed.

  9. Provides periodic reports and analytical data to System P&T Committee and Medication Safety, Anti-Infective and Formulary working groups.

  10. Assist pharmacy team maintaining listings of critical and short supply drugs develops proactive allocation plans with manufacturer(s) and wholesaler(s) and facilitates inventory transfers among ProMedica facilities to meet patient care demands.

  11. Reviews line-item prices on GPO and ProMedica contracts and ensures price accuracy/parity among all ProMedica facilities. Works with primary drug wholesaler(s) to obtain credit and rebill data when applicable.

  12. Works with operational staff to ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place

  13. Work as a liaison between departments to provide data requests.

  14. Assist as a pharmacy department inventory control specialist in the event of an emergency

  15. Works on any special projects as may be assigned and attends committee and workgroup meetings as requested.

  16. Other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, Business, Finance, IT, or related field is required.

Skills: Must have knowledge of pharmacy activities and duties, as well as drug terminology and nomenclature. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Strong quantitative and analytical skills are required including extensive experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Access. Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Must have the ability to follow through and track issues to the point of resolution. Must be a self-starter who can work under broad supervision with frequent exercise of independent judgment.
