This is an intermittent Corrections Officer position at the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) Togo. Intermittent employees work as needed based on facility needs and may work approximately one (1) day per week.

This position provides for a controlled setting which ensures a safe and secure environment for people who either work, visit, or reside within the correctional facility. To incorporate an integrated approach to individual management and programming that engages incarcerated individuals in a process of change. To engage incarcerated individuals in the transition process from the point of intake through the incarceration period which prepares the individuals for successful release into the community.

Minimum Qualifications

You must be a former Minnesota Department of Corrections' (DOC) employee with prior experience in the Corrections Officer 2 job classification or a higher, related job classification (e.g. Corrections Officer 3 or Corrections Lieutenant) and you must possess a valid driver's license, as this may be required for specific job assignments.

Physical Requirements

The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components may consist of a tuberculosis screening, commercial drivers license (CDL) drug test, and/or respirator clearance. The selected finalist may also be required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position. For a copy of the PDA, please email Lisa Duffin at lisa.duffin@state.mn.us

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory incarcerated individual registration, incarcerated individual associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
