The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is seeking a Fish Culture Station Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our Tionesta State Fish Hatchery. DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

  • In this position, you will be responsible for the production and stocking of fish at the Hatchery and the daily management and supervision of employees. Your work is essential for ensuring that the station operates in compliance with safety and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements and that the station meets production goals. You will prepare a production plan based on specifications from the regional manager, develop work schedules, control the budget, and report time and activity. For personnel, you will also be responsible for setting standards of staff performance, assigning work, and maintaining discipline and chain of command. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment. 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years as a Fish Culture Station Foreman; or
  • Four years of technical fisheries science experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
