Hess Corporation Logistics Specialist - North Gas Gathering Job in Tioga, North Dakota

Roles & Responsibilities

This role develops, maintains, and communicates the maintenance execution schedule with all teams performing maintenance on behalf of the operating area. This role is also responsible for coaching and supporting Reliability Operators and embedded Maintenance Technicians to perform their roles within Safety, Quality, and Productivity standards.

The primary areas of focus include the following:

1) Standard Work / Abnormality Management

  • Maintains the 2-week integrated Firm and Fixed schedule for the area including maintenance and project activities and forecasts weeks 3-6 to allow GSC Procurement to bring materials to the warehouse.

  • Determines and coordinates resources for execution of work (planned and break-in)

  • Facilitates daily YTT meeting to review progress against current schedule and deviations to plan (break-ins)

  • Works with Planning, GSC, and Craft Logistics to resolve problems with schedule compliance, material procurement and kitting, and work order planning.

  • Supports Craft Logistics / Crafts with auditing of Standard Work and 5S within the daily Craft operations. Identifies gaps in maintenance activity standard work within work order task lists and turns over to Planning and Craft Logistics for improvement.

  • Liaises with Craft Logistics Specialists to ensure contractors meet expectations of contract; accountable for communicating to contract owners when contractors are not meeting expectations.

  • Provides health checks of area work management key metrics. Monitors metrics, bringing gaps forward to area operations team. Assists in developing gap closure plans (work log management)

  • Provides coaching and instruction to area operations team on work management process and system (SAP)

  • Serves as the Area Team primary contact / intermediary with MR&I organization.

  • Functions as the CMMS (SAP PM) subject-matter-expert for the Area Team

2) Continuous Improvement

  • Aligns work to the standard work management process. Works cross functionally across Reliability Operations to identify, assess, and build or improve workflows. Provides vision and direction to the team to identify and action continuous improvement opportunities, including PM and CM task list improvements.

  • Ensures SAP master data meets standards (equipment, job plans, BOMs). Takes appropriate action to eliminate deviations.

3) Leadership / People Development

  • In conjunction with the Area Process Specialist, is responsible for day-to-day leadership behavior and people development to ensure standard processes and disciplined value stream management are maintained.

  • Drives embedment of Hess safety procedures, best practices and standard work as defined by the expectation of a Safety Leader. This includes ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures, as well as, lead, perform, and/or participate in 5S, accident investigation, safety audits and related activities.

  • Provides guidance, using feedback from the Area Process Specialist / Area Lead, to ensure planners have an appropriately prioritized work backlog to plan.

  • Drives alignment with Craft Logistics, Planning, and Operations Leaders to prioritize, schedule, plan, and execute maintenance work safely and efficiently. Interacts daily with Craft Logistics to understand status of work activities and understands required schedule changes as new notifications are brought into the process.

Work Environment

  • Field based role - 5/2 (9/80) work schedule.

Experience/Skills

  • 5+ years oil and gas industry experience or equivalent industry related experience.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable EHS procedures/practices such as Permit to Work, Routine Task Procedure, Energy Isolation, Respiratory Protection, PPE, Emergency Response.

  • Strong knowledge of Hess Work Management System – SAP PM and Prometheus.

  • Proficient computer skills / business system knowledge (SAP, Spotfire, Enviance, Excel).

  • Possess strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to lead, coach, and train others.

  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong prioritization skills for self and team.

Education/Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
