Robert Half Staff Accountant in Tinton Falls, New Jersey

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team located with Monmouth County, NJ. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, reviewing accounts receivable and payable activities, and assisting in the preparation of the annual budget. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of properties.

• Review and test accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy.

• Oversee accounts payable activities, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.

• Review cash activities, including checking outstanding checks and reconciling items.

• Prepare accrual entries, maintain backup schedules, and manage accrued interest and deferred assessments.

• Analyze and reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

• Assist management in the preparation of the annual budget.

• Work closely with independent CPAs on audit issues and process audits and tax returns for assigned portfolios.

• Monitor investments, cash balances, and cash adequacy to ensure financial stability.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the role of Staff Accountant or similar

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations is a must

• Well-versed with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Ability to handle Month End Close tasks

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Familiarity with accounting software and databases

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
