Description
The Assistant HR Generalist is exposed to all human resources procedures and assists with tasks throughout all areas of the HR department to include but not limited to payroll, administration, time and labor, and onboarding. The ideal candidate is a professional communicator, highly organized, and has the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Responsibilities
Assists Payroll Manager to verify payroll changes, memo completion and accuracy of changes in salaries, bonuses and expenses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Assists in the accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Assist in managing the Time and Labor system for accuracy.
Keeping process paperwork and employment records.
Team oriented. They will partner with leadership and HR team members to complete various HR tasks.
Informing applicants about position details, including benefits, duties and pre-employment paperwork.
Distributes and support reminders of employee performance evaluations and ensures they are completed in a timely manner (i.e., three months, one year, and yearly thereafter).
Complete events setup and coordination.
Aid with employee apparel orders and coordination for the yearly orders.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Travel between locations as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related experience
1-4 years’ experience in human resources and payroll experience
Previous experience with ATS systems and payroll processing is a plus
Previous Paylocity experience is a plus
Strong communication skills
Efficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Detail oriented
Ability to maintain confidential information
Multitasking skills
Highly organized and professional
Ability to work independently
Valid driver’s licenses and vehicle
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee uses a computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. The employee must be able to sit for a prolonged period. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
