Job Description
Perform sandblasting operations on steel structures, ensuring proper surface preparation for painting and coating. Operate sandblasting equipment, including compressors, nozzles, and abrasive materials. Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear. Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions. Collaborate with project teams to meet project schedules and quality standards. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
Maintain and troubleshoot sandblasting equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
Collaborate with project teams to meet project schedules and quality standards.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
Experience in sandblasting or a related field.
Familiarity with construction drawings and basic engineering terminology.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to interpret contract language and work independently.
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
Ability to climb 10-15ft ladders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with heavy labor, blueprints, overhead cranes, industrial environments, paint preparation, sanding, and general labor.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Work Environment
Work in a 180,000 sq ft steel fabrication facility, one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. Our facility is AISC certified for high-rise buildings, bridges, marine, and other structural steel projects. We also hold an AISC Sophisticated Paint, Indoor endorsement QP3 (SPE) for surface treatments and paint applications. The swing shift operates Monday through Thursday from 4:30 pm to 2:30 am, with a day shift training schedule for 1-2 weeks from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $26.00
