Bon Secours Mercy Health Lead Cardiovascular Technician - Tiffin Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio

Performs the duties and responsibilities of a vascular technician and coordinates the resources to provide safe and efficient patient care of the Cardiovascular Department. Assists in a leadership role to provide strong communication and leadership in daily responsibilities and management of the department along with or in the absence of the Cardiopulmonary Team Lead. Assists in the provisions of care of all age groups.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all the duties of Vascular Technician with a high degree of competency along with managing staffing and issues for shifts while providing excellence in leadership skills.

  • Maintains Quality Leadership to maintain and develop Bon Secours Mercy Health Culture

  • Maintains clinical competency and serves as a clinical resource within the department

  • Assist in development of policies and procedures to improve and maintain efficiencies in the department along with maintaining competency compliance within the department.

  • Recommends discipline as needed.

  • Acts as a key communication contact across all shifts.

  • Assist with developing schedules along with time keeper functions.

  • Utilizes interpersonal skills to maintain open communication within the respiratory department and other departments.

  • Assists with ordering and coordinating supplies and equipment for the respiratory department

  • Coordinates and participates in the Quality/Performance Improvement initiatives.

  • Assumes the role of supervision in the absence of the Cardiopulmonary Team Lead.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education.

  2. Successful completion of an AMA approved training program in radiologic technology and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Advanced schooling/credentialing and certification are required to advance into areas of echocardiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and mammography. Advanced study and certification preferred to advance to CAT SCAN, MRI and special procedures.

  3. Approximately one to two year’s experience necessary in order to become familiar with equipment and procedures.
