Linde Engineering North America LLC Subcontract Manager The Woodlands, TX, United States | req18738 What you will enjoy doing*

  • You will manage Request for Quote (RFQ) process for subcontractors; identify potential subcontractors, assemble the RFQ package, and coordinate RFQ clarifications
  • In addition, you will be in charge of the prequalification of potential subcontractors and prepare bid comparisons in cooperation with construction department
  • Also, you will negotiate subcontracts and finalize subcontract documents
  • Further, you will review and approve subcontractor's invoices in cooperation with Site Manager and / or Construction Department, as well as review and approve subcontractor insurance requirements and certificates
  • Moreover, you will administer Change Order Management; review contractual basis for change order, coordinate approval process, maintain change order logs, and cost reporting / forecasting
  • You will enter and maintain subcontractor data in ERP system and administer Claim Management with subcontractor and negotiate subcontract close out
  • On top of this, you will track subcontractor contract against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to management and customer on a regular basis, and executive staff on an as needed basis
  • Furthermore, you will provide feedback regarding employee performance on a construction project team to the Manager of Construction for documentation, and action
  • In this role, you will also recommend new processes where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery

What makes you great

  • You have a BS / BA in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as five (5) or more years' experience in procurement / subcontracting
  • Experience with ERP business system is required
  • You possess a broad understanding of the construction industry and contract language
  • Further, you have the ability to identify risk and minimize associated consequences
  • You own effective negotiation skills, strong leadership skills and also effective computer skills in Microsoft Office Software and other company and discipline specific software applications
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company are required in this role
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills suit your profile
