ARE YOU A SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT LOOKING TO FIND A ROLE IN THE WOODLANDS?

My client is looking to hire an experienced Senior Property Accountant with a minimum of three years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.

As a Senior Property Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our client’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in their real estate accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting or finance, as well as knowledge in real estate accounting software and full cycle accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full cycle accounting for our commercial real estate portfolio.

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and reports for various properties.

• Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to ensure financial accuracy.

• Monitor and analyze property financial performance and budgets.

• Assist in the annual audit process and tax compliance.

• Use commercial real estate software to streamline accounting processes.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

• Minimum of three years of commercial real estate accounting experience.

• Proficiency in commercial real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage).

• Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting principles.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.

• CPA certification is a plus, but not required.

• Bachelors / Honours Degree required

• 3+ years of overall general accounting experience

• Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

• SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

• General familiarity with account reconciliation

• Quality experience with account reconciliation

• Proven knowledge of budgeting

• Wide ranging experience with financial reporting

• Practical knowledge of account reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

• General ledger experience

• Financial statement preparation experience preferred

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

• Proficient in ERP systems (Yardi and MRI)

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards
