Position Summary:
We are looking for a Systems & Applications Specialist II to help work with our OBGYN Clinics. This employee supports desktop hardware and base and departmental-specific software and applications. Experience with GE ViewPoint would be helpful for this particular group of users. You should have experience providing this type of support to many users and various peripheral devices. OBGYN clinics often use medical imaging programs and other clinical software that are unique to their practice.
This is a full-time position that will require the employee to report to our McGovern Medical School in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. It is classified as salaried and exempt. You will be eligible for all UTHealth benefits including coverage by our healthcare plan and participation in a pension plan administered by the State of Texas.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Installs, configures, maintains, repairs, and otherwise supports services, specialized custom applications, desktop computers, software, applications, and related equipment in a networked environment.
Troubleshoots desktop services and systems; recommends improvements.
Trains users who need additional core computer and application skills as the position-related information technology responsibilities evolve.
Documents each troubleshooting case, annotating all updates to ensure proper documentation of the final resolution.
Maintains inventory information of servers, desktop services, and equipment.
Participates and executes rollouts/deployments, migrations, and upgrades as part of the IT team.
Advises department or school and provides them with IT solutions.
Approve all IT lease and purchase requests.
Other duties as assigned
Certification/Skills:
- A+, MCSE and/or MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) preferred* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Minimum Education:
Associate’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of related experience. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
