McGovern Medical School atUTHealth Houston, a prestigious academic health center in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), is seeking applications for a full-time clinical track faculty position in theDepartment of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. We are recruiting at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

Position Key Accountabilities:

We are seeking a collaborative and dedicated Renal Pathologist to join our expanding team at UTPath. Our facility processes over 1,000 renal biopsies annually, including both native (80%) and transplant (20%) cases. These biopsies come from a diverse mix of adult and pediatric patients across the Houston metro area, including onconephrology cases. Our team maintains strong relationships with nephrologists and offers personalized consultative services.

UTPath features a specialized renal biopsy and special tissues laboratory, managed by our nephropathologists. This facility supports the unique needs of nephropathology and facilitates the development of new protocols. Additionally, we house an on-site electron microscopy laboratory equipped with two new EM scopes.

Qualifications:

  • Board certified (AP or AP/CP) or eligible with fellowship training in Renal Pathology.

  • Additional subspecialty experience in Gastrointestinal, General Surgical Pathology, Molecular, or Bone & Soft Tissue Pathology is preferred but not required.

  • Eligibility for Texas Medical licensure.

  • Completion of Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) Residency with board certification by the American Board of Pathology.
