The Amazon Freight Business Operations team is seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Manager to own resource planning across all of our freight modes. This position will be responsible for developing volume forecasts, labor plans, trailer plans, etc., ensuring our operation has the right resources in the right place at the right time. The role will work closely with Sales, Operations, Shipper Support, Fleet, Finance, Business Intelligence, and Product/Tech teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Work with internal customers to define the granularity, frequency, and planning period for each resource.
• Build and execute a roadmap to launch new or enhanced planning processes to meet the highest priority business needs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy of our plans, and the efficiency with which they are generated.
• Work with Tech and BI teams to automate or streamline the planning process where possible.
• Lead or influence workstreams to improve the efficiency with which we utilize resources.
• Make data-driven recommendations and influence senior leadership across Amazon Freight and partner teams
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with Operations, Finance, Sales, Shipper Support, and Fleet teams
A day in the life
You will work with internal customers to understand how they use resource plans, and where existing processes are not meeting their needs. You will execute and continuously improve existing planning processes to maximize accuracy and efficiency. You will develop methodologies, wireframes and SOPs for new planning processes. You will build Excel macros and SQL queries to streamline planning processes, and partner with BI and Tech teams to develop a planning automation roadmap. You will lead or support cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency in how we leverage resources and/or enhance our ability to react nimbly when reality does not go according to plan.
About the team
You will be a member of the Amazon Freight Business Operations team, whose mission is to accelerate the profitable growth of Amazon Freight by maximizing organizational effectiveness. The team operates at the intersection of finance, sales, technology, and operations, collaborating with partners across Amazon Freight to build a world-class freight transportation service
Basic Qualifications
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of supply chain, program or project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
3+ years experience in forecasting, S&OP, or other relevant planning function.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
