Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

The shift for this position will be Wednesday through Saturday 12pm to 10pm.

Provide concierge-level security services at Edward Jones HQ.

  • Stands posts, responds within established quality standards; completes patrols and assignments in a timely manner, and coordinates a rapid response from HQ Operations team members

  • Responds to and maintains current and accurate knowledge of emergency procedures (i.e. fire and security alarms, severe weather and earthquake); reacts to medical emergencies; provides emergency first aid and assists EMS

  • Provide response services related to emergency and crisis planning, high risk terminations, workforce disruptions, natural disaster, civil unrest, and threat monitoring

  • Performs motorist assists

  • Conducts periodic inspections/testing of safety and security-based equipment; identifies and escalates equipment deficiencies/failures.

  • Authorized to carry a handgun to safeguard persons on Edward Jones premises

Able to complete thorough and accurate investigations and reports

  • Write detailed incident reports following any incident, occurrence, or variance that warrants documentation

  • Use correct form writes legibly, use proper spelling and grammar, and submits timely, accurate, understandable, and error-free information

  • Effective written and verbal communications and operation of computer software such as Microsoft Office

Actively participates in self-development. Attends training; maintains job-specific certifications, actively participates in field or classroom training exercises, and meets or exceeds minimum training standards

May be called upon to assist in the Security Control Center

Other duties as assigned

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $45260

Hiring Maximum: $74635

Skills/Requirements

Minimum of 5-years of armed experience (60cumulative months of daily on-duty armed carry while performing duties as police, military police, armed security)

High School diploma or GED required, college degree in related field preferred

Ability to obtain a valid armed Security Officer License. Must be authorized to carry a pistol through a valid armed security officer license and valid Concealed Carry Permit, or Law Enforcement Safety Act certification.

Valid driver's license

Knowledge of patrol operations and the Security field is required; must have significant knowledge in patrol operations acquired through previous experience, certification, or specialized training in patrol operations

Physical ability to observe and report

  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate at all levels and across diverse cultures with Edward Jones associates, contractors, and guests

Must have the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency

  • Rapid and effective decision-making during unusual or emergency situations.

  • Must be able to successfully participate in all firm required training and successfully demonstrate the application of less-lethal and lethal tactics, protocols, and procedures

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors and spend large part of day in an active role standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.

  • On occasion, may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.

  • May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.

  • Strong problem resolution skills.
