Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

Product Review's mission is to help clients achieve their financial goals by ensuring the products the firm offers align with our investment philosophy. Established in 1983, the department executes on this mission by reviewing, approving, and monitoring all types of investments and solutions broadly marketed by Edward Jones. Product Review is organized into four specialized teams covering investments and solutions such as mutual funds, ETFs, stocks, bonds, insurance, retirement, and education plans.

What you'll do...

  • Develop analytical skills by assisting with reviews on products that are the responsibility of the assigned team.

  • Develop the ability to critically review prospectus / contract language.

  • Assist analysts by compiling and reviewing data, conducting analysis, and completing studies of product types or individual strategy reviews.

  • Participate in a rotational analyst development program to bolster breadth of knowledge and familiarity with various products covered by Product Review teams.

  • Provide service to branch teams and internal stakeholders by responding to requests.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $70659

Hiring Maximum: $116516

Skills/Requirements

Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

What you'll need...

  • Finance, Applied Mathematics, Accounting or Economics Bachelor's and/or a Master's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Progress towards CFA designation within one year of hire. Completion of the CFA program is critical for career progression within the department.

  • SIE and Series 7/66 or their equivalency required or attained within one year of hire.

  • Solid knowledge of economic, statistical, and investment concepts.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling utilizing spreadsheets, data tools, and financial databases (Bloomberg, FactSet, PowerBI, etc.).

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are needed to prepare and present preliminary analysis to team as well as responding to requests from branch teams.

  • Willingness to become a continuous student of industry, product, and firm landscapes and concepts.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience in financial services related field preferred

Ability to:

  • Locate and sort through various information sources to identify relevant information needed to make an investment decision.

  • Prepare reports, statistical data, and recommendations for use in the formulation of investment decisions, processes, or tools.

  • Represent Edward Jones by accompanying analysts on meetings for purposes of investment analysis.

  • Develop and deepen an understanding of:

  • The Edward Jones investment philosophy and firm business model.

  • Financial statement analysis.

  • Product Review's role as the informed buyer for the client, and how decisions contribute to providing complete wealth management for clients.

  • Interpreting highly technical and/or legal language.
