Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Project Manager reporting to our office in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position will focus on executing comprehensive design and consulting services for trenchless pipeline projects with a dedicated team of specialists reporting up to this position.

The chosen candidate must be self-motivated, accountable, responsible, reliable, and have strong abilities to work autonomously. The targeted individual is highly motivated towards meeting project and team requirements, technical advancement, and continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and consulting efforts for various trenchless and pipeline projects primarily within Utah, although opportunities to work on projects across the U.S. are available.
  • Safely manage and execute field exploration programs and construction oversight activities
  • Perform, delegate, and oversee a variety of trenchless, pipeline and geotechnical engineering analyses.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of engineering reports, memorandums, proposals, specifications, plans and other related deliverables
  • Be actively involved during the construction phase of projects
  • Develop scope of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules
  • Manage project teams, budgets, schedules, delegate project tasks and mentor junior staff
  • Regularly coordinate and communicate with internal and external clients to understand their needs and ensure our services are meeting or exceeding their expectations
  • Recruit, mentor, manage, and develop staff to maintain Kleinfelder as a place to have a fulfilling career
  • Develop processes using industry best practices for project professionals to safely deliver trenchless design and field oversite services including field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical support
  • Engage various company SMEs to provide consulting expertise for clients to address immediate needs and long-term strategies
  • Continuously advance and improve your personal skill sets and chosen career path.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in civil, mechanical, petroleum, geotechnical, or geological Engineering or geology; Masters degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah, or ability to obtain one is desired
  • Approximately 6 or more years of experience in oil and gas, trenchless services, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to lead and manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules while mentoring junior staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of standard business software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience u sing VBA in Excel a plus.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required
  • Ability to commute to the office, external client meetings, and project sites within Utah and in the vicinity of S lt Lake City

Position Requirements:

  • Five to ten years of experience in civil engineering/land development, stormwater management systems, erosion control design and permitting

  • B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, petroleum engineering or related discipline
  • Ability and desire to obtain a Professional Engineering License (currently licensed a plus)
