Citigroup Vice President – Asset Services Custody Processing Support (CPS) in Tampa, Florida

Organization Overview:

Global Custody Operations has approximately 2,200 staff in 50 plus countries and budget of over $160mm, global revenue of $2bn with over 1,000 clients. Global Custody Operations is going through an exciting transformation with both operation and business strategy. The group is comprised of Asset Servicing, Transaction Management, Tax, Risk & Control and Operational Readiness.

Job Purpose:

This exciting role is to manage a team within the NAM/LATAM Custody Processing Support (CPS) team, which is a client facing role aligned under the wider Asset Services organization. Responsible for leading the execution of the strategy for the CPS function in Custody Operations and transforming the client experience to achieve best in class, whilst ensuring a strong control framework is adhered to.

The role requires the individual to have a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within Asset Servicing and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally and externally, often at a senior level. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions and generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions.

The successful candidate will be accountable for managing their team to ensure all aspects of the job are being performed to standard, recommend, and implement changes to improve the services levels and participate in the delivery and execution of the Global Strategy.

Organizational Oversight:

  • The team are responsible for managing client inquiries related to Corporate Actions and Income events for global accounts.

  • Resolves complex problems where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of basic securities processing procedures and industry standards.

  • Manage client relationships and demonstrate competence in improving and turning around relationships at risk; seek and create the best possible solutions for clients requiring customized services, greater efficiencies, timeliness, and overall quality of services performed.

  • Recommends and implements systems and procedural enhancements for Asset Servicing

  • Liaises with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement.

  • Providing support across Asset Servicing specific to Corporate Action and international and domestic Income Voluntary and Mandatory events.

  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of Asset Servicing operations combined with a comprehensive understanding of how own area Integrates with other departments to contribute towards achieving business objectives.

  • Acts as advisor or coach to new or junior personnel.

  • Research and resolve questions or issues presented by domestic and international clients to provide client service solutions for clients and trading desk. Interpret domestic and international voluntary and mandatory Corporate Action and Dividend Interest Event information and use that data to address client inquiries and ad-hoc requests.

  • Partner with internal teams across the business, including Margin Team, Tax, and Technology, Front and Middle office, to effectively service Prime Broker clients.

  • Perform reconciliations for applicable client account positions as required for the relevant Corporate Action and/or Dividend Interest event.

  • Provide guidance to clients on the life cycle of Events on multiple products, including Equity and Fixed Income products.

  • Craft robust client communications, which may include spreadsheets, in response to client questions or concerns.

  • Identify and manage risk to the business, with timely action and prompt escalation.

  • Hold or attend client conference call meetings and or in-person meetings.

  • Hold or participate on conference meetings with international or US Custodians and Transfer Agents regarding Corporate Action or Dividend events.

  • Performs all other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Manage reconciling and processing positions related to Corporate Action events.

  • Senior point of contact for the CPS organization in region across internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience as a Securities Investigation Analyst or related position performing corporate action processing.

  • 5+ years of experience Securities Investigation Analyst or related position performing corporate action processing.

$103,920.00 - $155,880.00
