Actalent Technical Writer in Tampa, Florida

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team for a US SOCOM project. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating comprehensive work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes, and policies. Additionally, the individual will engage in strategic communication with users to ensure clarity and effectiveness of the documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, and maintain detailed work instructions, SOPs, processes, and policies.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy of documentation.

• Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of existing documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with SOCOM standards.

• Engage in strategic communication with users to understand their needs and provide clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

• Ensure all documentation is aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

• Utilize various tools and software to create and manage documentation.

• Provide training and support to users on the use of documentation.

• Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate them into the documentation process.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or a related field.

• Working on a software team (or engineering at the least)

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a military or government setting.

• Must have an Active Secret Clearance

• Strong understanding of technical writing principles and best practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in using documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on SOCOM or other military projects.

• Familiarity with military terminology and procedures.

• Certification in Technical Writing or related field.
