The Sr Manager, SAP Enterprise Applications is responsible for delivery of SAP solutions and related third party applications interacting with SAP. This position manages a team of highly effective functional analysts and architects to provide daily operational support as well as solution implementation for enhancements and projects. This position plans, defines, and develops SAP systems strategies and standards and coordinates, manages, and reviews the work of assigned SAP analyst and architect teams.
Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and provide continuing forward direction for the SAP team
Providing technical leadership and management to establish best practices for delivery of high quality, scalable solutions for functional development team
Manage day-to-day SAP team and escalations from the business community
Assist and advise the company in making effective business decisions relative to application development
Plan and Manage Information Services-related projects as assigned and ensuring proper System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and best practices are met regarding tasks and projects from all areas
Working with the business community to understand needs and prioritization of SAP demands
Protect, maintain and extend SAP system solutions to ensure maximum availability of the service and stability of the solution.
Build and manage relationships with leadership teams and provide regular updates regarding planned and unplanned system outage and high priority incidents.
Manages and plans the activities of SAP production support and project teams and ensures communication and coordination of SAP projects within the respective business teams.
Interfaces with functional area process owners and users to identify, define, and document operational needs and objectives, current operational procedures and processes, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
Maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, staff, project consultants, and vendors.
The ideal candidate also has the ability to:
Plan, coordinate, manage, and review the work of assigned SAP production support and project teams using project management methodology
Manage and coordinate multiple projects of a complex and technical nature concurrently
Prepare effective written and oral communications, reports, documentation and presentations
Develop and document complex SAP operational and technical processes, functions, and procedures
Analyze complex business problems involving assigned SAP systems
Interpret and apply applicable rules, laws, and procedures to assigned SAP systems
Anticipate conditions, plan ahead, establish priorities, and meet project schedules
Review, evaluate and prepare detailed project management plans and project progress
Review and evaluate project deliverables
Motivate, direct, train, and develop teams
Establish effective working relationships with administrators, staff and project consultants and vendors
Analyze and interpret technical materials accurately and effectively in written communications, reports, and presentations
Stay abreast of current trends and technical advancements in areas of SAP systems
Present and lead discussions on SAP functionality as it relates to operational needs
Provide leadership and direction to the team as well as manage executive relationships
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field of study and eight (8) years of experience in a related occupation.
Five years of recent full-time paid professional-level experience in the configuration, design, development, modification, implementation, or management of SAP Financial, SAP Material Management, SAP Procurement, SAP Human Capital Management with at least three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Experience with implementation of SAP applications within a global environment; knowledge of end-to-end life cycle application development and template deployment; interpretation of business strategy into business requirements;
Position-Specific Travel/Work Requirements:
- May be required to travel up to 15% - 20% of the time based on business needs
Physical Demands
Physical - Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
Visual/Sensory - This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
Work environment - Work and environment are very repetitive.
Mental Stress - There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
