Ayres Associates Senior Civil Engineer in Tampa, Florida
Description
Finding the right fit:
Our Southeast division is seeking a senior civil engineer with a proven track record of managing and successfully executing water/wastewater utility projects for city/county/local governments. This position desires an entrepreneurial mindset to grow our municipal engineering practice in the state of Florida and contribute towards our national practice in the area.
The successful candidate will have expertise in utility design, water/wastewater collection systems, and utility relocation projects, with experience in conflict resolution, utility agreements, permitting and utility construction management.
On any given day, you’ll:
Take the lead in identifying marketing opportunities and work collaboratively to win projects from city, county, and municipal governments.
Manage projects, oversee design and production of plans and specifications, and ensure that the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the quality standards of Ayres. Associates and requirements of the contract.
Build and maintain respectful working relationships with PMs and other leaders within the company.
Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
Actively engage in professional organizations.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
Registered professional engineer (PE) in Florida.
8+ years of experience in the field of water/wastewater utility design and construction.
Ability to independently manage small to medium size projects.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D. MicroStation experience a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Proven business development expertise focused on identifying, pursuing, and winning projects.
A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
Familiarity with clients in the Tampa Bay Area.
Comfort with projects related to utility relocation in roadway construction.
Familiarity with FDOT standards.
