Bausch + Lomb Maintenance Technician III (Industrial Mechanic) in Tampa, Florida

Objectives/Purpose of the Job:

The role encompasses providing both electrical and mechanical support for production equipment, including compounding, aseptic preparation, laboratories, and stability testing. The Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring continuous production with minimal interruptions by diagnosing and resolving equipment issues. This involves conducting routine maintenance on various machines. The position requires collaboration within a team to execute and document troubleshooting efforts, repairs, and preventive maintenance on vessels, steam sterilizers, ovens, pumps, CIP/SIP skids, incubators, and other assorted equipment. Additional responsibilities include obtaining quotes for parts, processing purchase requests, and assisting with engineering projects. Candidates should possess three to five years of experience as a technician II or in a comparable role.

Key Activities/Responsibilities/Job Functions:

  1. Troubleshoot, repair and document production equipment issues. Including electrical controls, variable frequency drives, and main electrical distribution panels.

  2. Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) as assigned on scheduled equipment.

  3. Abide by LOTO, PPE and good housekeeping procedures.

  4. Must be capable of working in the aseptic environment (Training Provided)

  5. Respirator qualification is required. (Training Provided)

  6. Identify improvement opportunities for equipment design and preventative maintenance programs.

  7. Meets and maintains all required training during the year (SOP, EHS, and HR).

  8. Provides training and guidance to Maintenance Tech I & Tech II associates.

  9. Liaison with Engineering for new equipment.

  10. Position is part of “on-call” support staff with rotating weekend coverage.

  11. Support operational excellence and EHS initiatives.

  12. Assume responsibility for the GMP, ISO, EHS awareness and compliance within the respective area.

  13. All other duties, as assigned.

Internal Qualifications/Certifications:

  1. Aseptic Gowning certified

  2. Familiar with Spare Parts/PM

  3. Access to CMMS (Maximo)

Qualifications /Training:

  1. High School diploma required; AA/AS or technical degree preferred.

  2. 5-10 years pharmaceutical/FDA regulated environment (preferred but not required).

  3. Electrical & mechanical experience required.

  4. Ability to operate lathe and mill (preferred but not required).

  5. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required.

  6. Able to work quickly and under pressure.

  7. Good documentation, computer, and math skills.

  8. Must be detail oriented and quality conscious.

  9. Good team oriented and excellent communication skills.

  10. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

  11. Ability to work different shifts/weekends as needed to maintain the production schedule.

On the Job Training provided:

  1. Aseptic Gowning Certification.

  2. Forklift & JLG Certification.

  3. Respirator Certification.

Shift : Monday to Friday / 3:00pm to 11:30pm

Start Pay Range: $ 27.50
