Robert Half Legal Assistant in Tampa, Florida

Description We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team in Tampa, Florida. This role involves a variety of legal administrative duties and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Legal Assistant will be fundamental in providing comprehensive support, managing legal documents, and handling scheduling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient administrative and secretarial support

• Prepare and edit legal documents and correspondence

• Manage the scheduling of court appearances and depositions

• Utilize case management software for efficient organization of client materials and attorney work product

• Assist in drafting, proofreading, redacting, and editing various documents and contracts for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, format, and content

• Handle incoming calls and route them to appropriate staff members

• Maintain and update attorneys' client contact information

• Assist with the submission of new business intake and running conflict checks

• Manage the opening and closing of client matters

• Input and edit attorneys' time using billing software for attorneys

• Perform administrative duties, such as client file management, general correspondence, expense reports, check requests, etc.

• Schedule appointments and meetings, and manage appointment calendars for the candidate’s team of attorneys

• Utilize communication and client relation skills to effectively integrate with clients and the team. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal assistant role

• Proficient in case management software for efficient handling of legal cases

• Capable of managing calendars to ensure smooth scheduling of appointments and depositions

• Strong client relations skills to maintain positive relationships with clients

• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to all stakeholders

• Familiar with e-File and e-Filing systems for efficient document management

• Experience in corporate legal matters, including document preparation and legal research

• Proficient in calendaring to manage schedules and deadlines effectively

• Ability to schedule depositions and appointments in a timely manner

• Experience with red lining to review and edit legal documents

• Familiarity with billing software for attorneys, including Prolaw - Time & Billing, for accurate client billing

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
