We’re seeking a talented Civil/Environmental Engineer based in Florida (preferred locations are Fort Lauderdale, Gainesville, Orlando, or Tampa) to support and deliver solid waste, remediation, and sustainability projects through engineering, design, and project management. You’ll utilize your engineering background and creativity to address prevalent waste, remediation, and sustainability issues. You’ll help advance the industry by delivering sustainable solutions for clients and connect with Jacobs’ practitioners to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. We’ll lean on you to lead design, engineering, and project tasks, delegate work, and collaborate with engineers and design practitioners of varying experience levels. You’ll also mentor junior practitioners and learn from senior practitioners to grow professionally. We’ll rely on you to develop and maintain strong client relationships to drive business through proposals, networking, and sole source opportunities.
Jacobs is a hybrid work environment, and some work may be performed remotely. Up to 25% travel may be required for specific internal or external meetings or project needs.

Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering or related engineering degree.
At least 5 years of experience including waste solutions projects.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Florida OR possess the ability to gain licensure.
Ability to lead project tasks and project teams.
Sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
Client facing and team leading experience for engineering projects.
Experience with report writing (engineering design reports, stormwater reports, proposals, and/or specs)
Task and design management experience.
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
Ideally, you’ll also have
Project management experience.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
Civil design skills (AutoCAD/Bentley, Revit, etc.)
Good communication skills, resilience to deal with critical feedback, along with good presentation skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with multiple design disciplines.
Planning and organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail of complex civil design components.
