Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Application Development Manager to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) team. This role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of BI and Data Warehouse solutions to support business decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, BI tools, and team leadership.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BI and DW developers.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the BI and DW team, aligning with overall business goals and objectives.

  • Ensure continuous development and training of team members to keep up with the latest technology trends and best practices.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

  • Identify areas for improvement and develop improvement programs to increase productivity and process efficiency.

  • Participate in budget planning and monitor the BI and DW budget to ensure expenditures align with department and business plans.

  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality BI and DW services.

Application Development:

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of BI and DW solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.

  • Manage the development and maintenance of data warehouse environment to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.

Delivery Leadership:

  • Manage BI and DW delivery to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and alignment with business objectives.

Data Management and Integration:

  • Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure accurate and timely data integration.

  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and security of data within the BI and DW systems.

  • Implement data governance policies and best practices.

  • Engage with business units to promote the use of BI tools and data-driven decision-making.

Technology Leadership:

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to apply technologies to business processes.

  • Listen and support teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision-making.

  • Eliminate impediments and evolve systems and practices in support of Lean-Agile development.

  • Ensures the teams understand and follow the development practices and standards.

  • Defines the iterative delivery practices and standards to incrementally produce quality solutions.

  • Foster Communities of Practice (CoPs)

  • Stay updated with the latest BI and DW technologies and industry trends.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of BI tools (e.g., MicroStrategy) and data warehousing technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL, ETL tools).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex BI and DW projects.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and resolve urgent issues.

  • Strong desire to learn and expand technical knowledge.

  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in BI and data warehousing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Experience with BI tools and data warehousing technologies.

  • Relevant certifications are a plus.

Pay Transparency

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
