Aston Carter Accounting Manager in Tampa, Florida

Accounting Manager | Tampa, FL

Work Site: Tampa, FL

Schedule: Hybrid (after training)

Description:

  • Solid understanding of basic GAAP accounting.

  • Focus is on the income statement and proper recognition of revenue, gross profit and proper coding of SG&A expenses.

  • Develop strong working relationships with the branch(es) they support, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are very important.

  • Understand and execute our SOX program consistently.

  • Closing the month for one or more branches each month following a closing calendar, preparing a monthly financial forecast which involves collaboration with the branch(es) leadership team.

  • They will review job cost data weekly and work with the branch to make corrections or adjustments when necessary.

  • There is also the need for ad hoc reporting and participation in various meetings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field AND 4 + years of relevant, job-related experience OR 6+ years of relevant, job-related experience in the construction industry (without a degree).

  • Well-rounded financial experience , including budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting financial data.

  • Strong communication skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.

  • Capacity to successfully execute job tasks in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision.

  • Previous financial experience in the construction industry.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Functional knowledge of the Work In Progress (WIP) schedule.

  • Viewpoint construction software experience.

  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) experience.
