SPECIAL NOTES:

Four (4) years of professional experience in the areas of Accounts Receivable/Payable, State Disbursement and/or Auditing is preferred. A bachelor's Degree from a college or university may substitute for the preferred years of experience.

The anticipated salary for this position is $45,717.68.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to understand, interpret and apply State & Federal laws, rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing. Ability to independently plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This position has responsibilities involving procedures adopted by the Department, Division, and Bureau. The procedures are part of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and, if needed, improve these controls and procedures in the performance of duties within the Bureau of Auditing.

This is a professional accounting/auditing position involving the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theories, and technical skills. This position is responsible for independently auditing and processing complex disbursement.

The duties are:

  • Audits and processes State agencies’ vouchers and MFMP payment requests to ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal requirements including Florida Statutes, Attorney General Opinions, Florida Administrative Code, Chief Financial Officer memoranda, and processing procedures of the Bureau of Auditing.

  • Audits and processes State agencies’ journal transfers to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements of Florida Statutes, Attorney General Opinions, Florida Administrative Code, Chief Financial Officer memoranda, and processing procedures of the Bureau of Auditing.

  • Communicates information relating to the audit and processing of disbursement vouchers, MFMP payment requests, and journal transfer vouchers, verbally and in writing.

  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
