Our Organization and Mission:
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.
The Office of Human Resources (HR) is committed to providing administrative services in the areas of human resources including employee benefits, salary administration, human resource development, personnel records, employment and employee relations to the employees of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The Work You Will Do:
Serves as the Records Custodian for the Office of Human Resources including the scanning of files into document imaging systems.
Responsible for assisting in all general areas of human resource management and specifically in personnel record management, and employee relations activities.
Responsible for providing consulting services and maintaining confidential and/or sensitive records in a document management system. These records include selection packages, personnel files, FMLA/FSWP, criminal history reports, Employee Relations and Veterans’ Preference documents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively verbally & in writing.
Ability to understand and explain statutes, rules and regulations.
Must be able to address and/or research inquiries regarding all DBPR licensing and regulation matters.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Minimum Requirements :
At least one year of experience working in an office environment.
Experience writing various types of communications to internal and/or external customers.
Knowledge of General Records Schedule governed by the Florida Department of State.
