Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a responsible professional position within the Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida, Cancer Prevention and Control Program and se rves as the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP) Data Manager. Duties include, but not limited to, the following:

Responsible for data design, collection, and analysis of program data, summarizing and disseminating of data reports. This includes data from participating regional sites using various methods. Using Cancer Screening and Tracking System (CaST), SPSS, ACCESS, EXCEL, and existing Data Reports. Maintain of Florida BCCEDP data with Florida Cancer Data System, program GIS mapping to assist in program planning. Staff lead to write and submit the annual legislative report.

Responsible for reviewing data, reports, and assuring patient reporting forms are correctly completed and entered into database. Review program core indicators to track statewide and regional progress, monitor program trends, and develop graphs from reported core indicator data. Prepares data for reports such as: program planning, quality assessments, pending reports of outstanding cases in CaST, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Minimum Data Elements (MDE) data extracted from CaST and ad hoc reports. Assist with writing the CDC grant application, data management updates, and evaluation reports.

Provides technical assistance to county health department regional coordinators in areas of accurate data management for utilization of data for targeted outreach, knowledge of provider service utilization and in meeting all MDE core indicators.

Assists program staff in using data analysis results and evaluation results in planning program activities.

Maintains the third-party payer claims database and communicates with vendor as appropriate.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis (CHARTS, SPSS, Access, Excel); development and maintenance of standards and procedures in support of the program; collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management program practices; organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; conduct fact-finding research; utilized problem-solving techniques; work independently; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures, relating to operational and management analysis activities; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively: and establish and maintain working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Emergency Duty – Incumbent may be required to work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency Duty required of the incumbent includes working special needs or Red Cross shelters, or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. This position is designated in Group II for deployment. Assigned Purchasing Card Responsibilities. Purchasing – This position is responsible for the preparation of purchasing and the approval of purchasing. Incumbent may have access to records containing social security numbers in the performance of job duties.
