Overview:
The Florida Gaming Control Commission is responsible for exercising all regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to legal gaming, including pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms, slot machine facilities, oversight of gaming compacts, and other forms of gambling authorized by state law, excluding the Lottery, as well as directly enforcing Florida’s gaming laws and combatting illegal gambling activities.
The agency is overseen by five Commissioners who are appointed by the Governor, with Commissioners appointing an Executive Director who leads a team of 198 staff members.
The mission of the Florida Gaming Control Commission is to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming activities through fair regulation, licensing, effective criminal investigation, and enforcement.

Position Responsibilities :
Leasing
Responsible for the Florida Gaming Control Commission’s real property leasing inventory.
Assists the Director of Administration with acquiring lease space as directed.
Responsible for accurately maintaining excel files that captures all lease liability inventory (CIP) spreadsheet of the Commission’s real estate properties.
Responsible for managing the lease files, and auditing, coding, and processing invoices.
Maintains a lease file on all leases with all information, including timelines and lease actions in detail.
Tracks, monitors, and prepares, six months in advance, all renewal considerations.
Completes Request for Space Need, run real estate cost monthly calculations, and manage, audit, and approve electrical bills for lease space.
Works closely with the Director of Administration, state-contracted tenant broker, and Department of Management Services (DMS) to efficiently and correctly document and provide information to complete leasing solicitations.
Serves as the Commission’s contact for the State-Owned Lands and Records System (FL Solaris) and TRIRIGA. Responsible for DMS lease space maintenance. Liaises with DMS in building-related maintenance and scheduling DMS conference rooms.
Serves as the Commission’s liaison with the Department of State for records retention for all Commission records. Monitors, provides staff training, and prepares annual reports for records destruction.
Contract Manager
Serves as contract manager for assigned contracts.
Crafts, evaluates, negotiates, and executes assigned contracts.
Creates and maintains relationships with vendors/contractors and serves as the main point of contact.
Manages contract workflows and maintains records and documentation to established contracts and those in progress.
Communicates and presents information to management about assigned contract-related matters.
Solves any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally.
Responds promptly to staff regarding contract questions.
Other
Special Projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Administration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and skilled in the application of Florida Statutes and Administrative Code.
Knowledge of Department of Management Services leasing standards.
Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and be able to apply complex formulas and create pivot tables.
Must be skilled in Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to effectively use the state’s facilities management and inventory programs - Solaris and TRIRIGA.
Ability to develop policy and procedure manuals, forms, and other materials as requested.
Ability to communicate effectively for process improvement and cross function collaboration.
Ability to evaluate and analyze policies and rules for publication and adoption in Florida Administrative Code.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of State of Florida, administrative work in the areas of accounting, auditing, or project management involving multiple divisions/bureaus/units relating to administration.
Two (2) years of State of Florida, Real Property Leasing experience.
Preferred Qualifications, not required:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Real Estate Salesperson License
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Florida Certified Contract Management certification.
