The Role

An exciting opportunity to join Kyndryl’s Global Privacy and Data Governance Office has opened up! This role is ideal for candidates prepared to be a transformation leader in Kyndryl’s Global Privacy and Data Governance Office, reporting to the Legal function.

As the Global Data Governance Transformation Lead you will be responsible for assisting in the transformation of the overall design, implementation and management of Kyndryl’s privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, AI and supply chain management programs and developing appropriate metrics to identify, mitigate and monitor associated enterprise risks. The role requires extensive experience leading and transforming the privacy office of a major global corporation with a strong understanding of global regulatory requirements in the privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, AI and/or supply chain management to design such programs and metrics. Equally important, is the leadership and management skills and experience to drive implementation of such programs and associated metrics. The role also requires the ability to perform in collaboration and consultation with Kyndryl colleagues in senior positions for this transformational role.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the transformation of the Global Privacy and Data Governance Office to align its policies, practices, and procedures with global standards

  • Designing and implementing metrics to measure the effectiveness of the Global Privacy and Data Governance Office to manage and mitigate privacy and related global regulatory risk

  • Working closely with Kyndryl’s Chief Information Office (CIO), Chief Information Security Office (CISO), Procurement, Marketing, Legal and other members of the Kyndryl Global Privacy and Data Governance Office to transform the design, mission, and operation of the Global Privacy Data Governance Office

  • Working closely with Kyndryl’s Global Practices and customer engagement teams to ensure that Kyndryl’s approach to privacy is consistent with global standard practices

  • Understanding the legal requirements driving Kyndryl’s privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, AI and supply chain management operations in order to optimize such operations and provide guidance to the Data Governance Project Office in explaining Kyndryl’s operations to relevant Kyndryl business stakeholders and customer account teams

  • Assisting in the design of practical privacy assessments, related tools and templates and for the consolidation of existing privacy assessment systems and data for implementation by the Data Governance Project Office

  • Reviewing and advising on the design and implementation of multi-step review processes for suppliers, systems, and projects, focused on high-risk processing and high-impact activities

  • In coordination and consultation with the CIO, CISO and Legal teams, optimize the use of systems and tools needed to support such operations and implement and maintain a consolidated risk register for the Kyndryl enterprise

The compensation range for this position in the US is $146,040 to $277,320 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills, and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city, or local minimum wage requirement.

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave and paid time off. Note: if this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.

Who You Are

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of international data privacy law and regulations, including EU, US and parallel international privacy program management requirements and will have the following experience and skills:

  • Degree in technology, computing, accounting, audit or similar from an accredited university

  • 5+ years as the chief privacy officer or deputy CPO of a major global corporation

  • 10+ years as a global privacy compliance officer building a global privacy compliance framework for corporate and business-level implementation addressing all critical requirements in policy, procedure, monitoring and assessment

  • Experience obtaining approvals for multiple, advancing versions of Controller and Processor BCRs (Binding Corporate Rules), as well as APEC CBPR (Cross Border Privacy Rules) and PRP (Privacy Recognition for Processors) certifications

  • Experience implemented comprehensive privacy management framework and toolset focused on Privacy by Design & by Default

  • Strong understanding of international data privacy, cybersecurity, data governance AI and supply chain management laws and regulations, including EU, U.S., and parallel international accountability requirements

  • Effective communication skills (both in writing and verbally) and proven ability to succinctly present complex operational issues to senior business and legal executives

  • Demonstrated business judgment and proven ability to work as part of diverse and multi-cultural teams of both legal and business colleagues

Preferred Experience

  • Understanding of AI governance requirements and frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act; Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence) would be an advantage

  • Additional language(s) would be an advantage
