This is responsible work performing administrative, organizational, accounting, and fiscal duties to assist in managing the daily business and support operations of the Court Interpreter Certification and Regulation Program (CICRP). Work is performed under limited supervision.
Prepares travel reimbursement requests and assists with maintaining inventory of property.
Drafts correspondence, prepares reports, creates form templates, assists with making travel and meeting arrangements, and maintains a comprehensive filing system.
Processes all initial requests concerning training, testing, and registration or designation renewals.
Collects and inputs data for statistical reports, maintains automated office systems and databases, and provides information to court personnel and the public.
Working relationships are established with judges, State Courts System personnel, state and local government staff, vendors, and the public.
Deals with confidential and sensitive data and issues, and must use independent judgment and discretion.
In-state travel may be required to serve as a test proctor and/or provide administrative support at orientation workshops or exam administrations.
Education and Training Guidelines
Bachelor’s degree.
One year of work experience in business administration, office skills, or a related field.
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.
Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
Competencies
Knowledge of and ability to use correct English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Knowledge of and ability to perform basic mathematical operations, bookkeeping, and simple statistics.
Ability to plan and prepare budgets, reports, correspondence, and charts in a variety of formats.
Ability to proofread and edit correspondence and reports.
Ability to use a personal computer and word processing applications such as Word and spreadsheets.
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to organize and/or automate office procedures and maintain an effective filing system.
Ability to manage multiple assignments including long- and short-range projects.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to deal tactfully with the public.
Ability to use independent judgment and discretion concerning confidential information.
Ability to plan, organize, and complete special assignments with general supervision.
Special Comments
The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and work in a quick-paced environment, providing daily support operations to a statewide Court Interpreter Certification and Regulation Program.
Telephone and e-mail etiquette are a priority.
Must be self-directed and able to support a four-person professional staff.
Database experience a plus.
