The Work You Will Do:

This is a full time, 40 hours per week, Other Personal Services (OPS) Business Analyst position in the Division of Information Technology (IT). This position is responsible for serving as the liaison between the PMO Team, Application Developers and Business Stakeholders. The incumbent will be required to analyze, plan, program, and evaluate the business needs of the stakeholders. The incumbent will also be required to evaluate user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.

      Pay: $25 - $30 per hour

      Your Specific Responsibilities:

    Business Analyst (BA)

    • Works with project managers, users, and management to gather, analyze, and evaluate the business objectives of the stakeholders.

    • Works with developers, Subject Matter Experts and other users to refine and deliver requirements in a timely manner.

    • Collects and analyzes the business and technical requirements needed to develop test cases and test scripts.

    • Facilitates communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.

    • Ensures that the project teams are aware of the importance of customer service and meeting the project deadlines.

    • Consults with project staff and development team members to identify application problems and provide solutions.

    • Participates in reviewing and constructing project plans to outline the steps required to develop the customer’s applications.

    • Develops and maintains process mapping documentation to test procedures and identify quality standards.

    • Documents the current business processes (AS-IS) and the future desired business processes (TO-BE) to be used in both process improvement activities and requirements gathering/analysis.

    • Responsible for creating flow charts and/or diagrams to illustrate steps and to describe the logical operational steps of programs and systems.

    • Formulates and implements mentoring and training plans for other Business Analysists on elicitation process and business analysis techniques.

    • Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.

    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Additional duties may include:

    • Assisting in reporting team progress to upper management through regular status updates, maintaining all required documentation for visibility into team efforts.

    • Participating in regular team meetings to assess risk, identify conflicts, barriers and issues, and facilitate the development of resolutions and action plans.

    • Suggesting training opportunities for the team.

    • Managing multiple tasks, activities, and/or projects to ensure they are effectively tracked, follows Department documentation standards, and remains on schedule, within scope, and within budget.

    • Performing other duties as assigned.

    • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

      Qualifications:

      As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.

      Preferred -

    • An educational degree or certification in a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the above experience requirements.

    • Demonstrated experience leading a team.

    • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst (BA).
