Talladega College Director of Advancement Services in Talladega, Alabama

The Office for Institutional Advancement invites applications to fill a full-time Director of Advancement Services.

Compensation:Salary $85,000, commensurate with experience plus benefits package.

The Director of Advancement Services is responsible for database management, advancement reporting, gift recording, data integrity, and data security. This position reports to and receives administrative direction from the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports fundraising initiatives.
  • Responsible for data entry, data output, and training in the fundraising database (Raisers Edge).
  • Process new or updated information into the database as needed.
  • Continuously improve the quality of alumnae/ alumni donor data.
  • Completes the daily data and gift entry, gift receipting, and gift acknowledgment processes.
  • Advise on proper procedures ensuring accurate recording of gifts.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising policies, goals, and procedures.
  • Produce gift and pledge reports and serve as the liaison with the Business Office for the posting of all gifts and pledges and the creation of all new funds.
  • Select and prepare data for solicitations, and pledge reminders; generates and track responses to pledge reminders and solicitations.
  • Independently prepares system training materials and documents database policies and procedures as needed.
  • Develop, review, interpret, and advise staff of office policies and procedures.
  • Design, write and edit reports that facilitate the achievement and analysis of all fundraising and constituent relations goals.
  • Produce targeted mailing lists for communications, solicitations, invitations, etc. for Advancement staff and for other constituents college-wide.
  • Answer national surveys (e.g., Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey.)
  • Document and regularly update the procedures manual.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Minimum three years of professional experience in financial reporting management.
  • Knowledge of fundraising and data analysis
  • Knowledge of and prior use of Raisers Edge(preferred)
  • Superb attention to detail and ability to switch between details and bigger impact of the collective details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, entry analysis, distribution, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
