Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Your responsibilities include participating in the installation of new plant equipment, repairing and installing pneumatics, hydraulics, and structural framing. You will utilize the proper tools necessary to perform maintenance and repairs, adhere to safety policies like Lock-out Tag-out, Confined Space, and Fall Protection, and maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in work areas. Additionally, you will carry out preventive maintenance on equipment according to the provided schedule and work instructions, and maintain required record files and maintenance logs.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Tacoma, Washington.

Work Environment

The company has been operational since 1897, primarily working on government contracts with signed contracts for the next 6 years. The site spans 15 acres and includes several buildings. The work environment is described as dirty, dark, dingy, sometimes wet and hot, with huge bay doors that stay open year-round, potentially leading to cold conditions during those times. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 2 PM to 10:30 PM. Compensation ranges from $22.63 to $29.54 depending on experience, plus a $1 shift differential. The location is in South Tacoma.
