SUNY Upstate Medical University Verona Cancer Center Advance Practice Provider in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will collaborate with the Oncology physician to provide care for Oncology patients at the Upstate Verona Cancer Center.

Working in collaboration with the attending physician the APP will provide:

Comprehensive health assessments.

Develop plans of care for Hematology/Oncology patients to include medical health histories, physical examinations.

Developing plans based on clinical diagnoses and problems, analyzing diagnostic testing and laboratory results.

Ordering interventions based on clinical assessments.

Consult with physician for abnormal findings as appropriate and assist in planning and ordering care and treatment for patients requiring triage.

APP will actively participate in quality improvements working on teams and committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in specialty area preferred.

Monday - Friday, Days
