Crouse Hospital Technical Assistant in Syracuse, New York

Crouse’s Medical Imaging team provides services that include: Computed Tomography, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasonography, Breast Health Services, Bone Densitometry, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Interventional Radiology. The Medical Imaging team is hiring a Technical Assistant-CT to work 4:00 pm - 12:00 am w/rotating weekends, holidays and other shifts assigned

Schedule:

Pay Rate: $15.25-$28.04/hour based on verified education and experience

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally greets/directs patients and efficiently serves as liaison between reception and technical control area.

  • Proactively prepares materials and equipment prior to procedures and ensures rooms and equipment are cleaned and restocked in a timely manner.

  • Accurately enters patient information into department computer system.

  • Properly processes films and routinely loads and unloads cassettes, ensuring films are accurately identified.

  • Systematically updates film boards when films become available in the department. Proactively obtains outside films prior to patient arrival.

  • Competently monitors and routinely verifies available supplies, equipment and linen required for procedures and replenishes as needed.

  • Properly removes films from film boards and files in master jackets upon case review completion.

  • Effectively assists in patient scheduling and ensures timely transport of patient films/records to other departments for interpretation.

  • Actively transports medical specimens to the lab as directed by department leadership..

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must have six months or more of Medical Imaging experience.
