SUNY Upstate Medical University Team Leader in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Team Leader will be responsible for supervision of subordinate staff of the Upstate Family Medicine-CG which includes completing performance programs and evaluations; hiring, coaching, counseling and disciplinary action as needed; payroll; orientation and ongoing training of employees. Coordination of day-to-day operations, reorganizing work flow for the department as needed, covering for activities when staff are absent, maintaining equipment, oversight of purchasing of clerical supplies. Oversight of referrals, registration, charging, and coding workqueues. Perform follow-up with staff as needed to keep current. Assisting with month end reporting. Assisting with the development of policies and procedures. Participating in hospital committees. Ongoing education and training to keep current. Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee and institutional information. Facilitates open lines of communication with staff, medical director, health care team, patients and family.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and three years relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational and computer skills, and previous supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a medical practice setting, proficiency with Epic and creating template schedules preferred. Experience leading others is a plus.

Work Days:

M-F Days hours dependent on operational need
