SRC, Inc Systems Administrator in Syracuse, New York
- Research new technologies to support business objectives
- Integrate new hardware and software into existing infrastructure
- Perform server administration, hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Plan and implement patches, upgrades, and migrations
- Develop redundancy plans for critical systems
- Develop, implement, and maintain security controls and supporting documentation as required
- Support security incident reporting, vulnerability and log assessments, and information assurance compliance scans
- Administer server-based user applications
- Author and maintain system documentation
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related fieldand 2+ years of experience in an enterprise IT infrastructure environment
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification required or obtained within six months of employment (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security or GICSP)
- Experience with administration of Microsoft Server, Linux, and VMware
- Experience with integrating cloud solutions with on-site infrastructure
- Understanding of physical and virtual network technologies
- Understanding of storage technologies
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Experience with Veeam is a plus)
- Willingness to provide occasional off-hours support to perform maintenance, patching and troubleshooting
- Ability to learn quickly and implement new technologies
- Candidate must be self-motivated and work with little or no supervision
- Candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects and handle daily tasks
- Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
- Occasional travel required (5-10%)
